	Edgbaston Stadium
	

From a field of rough grazing land to one of the world’s leading venues
for cricket, hospitality, conferences and events.


Formed in 1882, Edgbaston Stadium stands today as one of the world
leading international sports venues, home to Warwickshire County Cricket Club
&#38;amp; Birmingham Bears, making it a major landmark for the UK’s second city,
Birmingham.
After working solely with the conferences and
events team for a number of years, we were commissioned to refresh the umbrella
brand for Edgbaston.

Our main challenge was the unify of the combined functions of the stadium,
that was previously fragmented within the core Edgbaston brand.
Our mission was to deliver a proposition that
would resonate with anyone in touch with the brand - ‘Creating
experiences without boundaries’ was formed.

We had our message, but we needed to educate how to follow it. The performance
pyramid was developed to aid this process – to ensure everybody was on the same
team.

With the foundations of the brand defined, a new visual style was implemented.
Staying true to our new proposition, this continued to beyond the logo and
guidelines and onto interior design and user experience for anyone entering the
facility.
The brand guidelines set the tone for the
brand purpose and values, along with visual rules to establish a seamless
identity and flexibility to push the brand further.

The Dubai Future
Academy forms part of Dubai Future Foundation, launched in 2017 at the world’s
first 3D printed building.
The academy delivers educational programs
based on the social and economic challenges of today – using some of the world’s
best thinkers, leaders and professors to explore in depth industry subjects
with the future pioneers of the UAE.

We had the opportunity to further develop the visual brand of the
academy, taking the existing identity to the next level, exploring the brand
versatility and to enhance the brand story – giving purpose.
After contribution and delivery in strategic
workshops - brand guidelines were created that are used across the board for
print and digital collateral. Ensuring consistency in brand style.

	Further support included course materials, social media management and regular email campaigns to promote the ongoing happenings of the academy.

After management of the master brand, the Pioneer Series was created -
an initiative open to the public, showing industry pioneers from the UAE and
across the Middle East. A separate identity and website was created opening up
to the general public to attend talks and workshops lead by specially selected
pioneers.


 This website also becoming a source to document all talks and make sessions
available to the public as they happen.

leisure.
The leisure, wellbeing and fitness industry
forms a major role in the Dubai economy, contributing to the daily lifestyle
for locals and expatriates.
Switch DXB is a community based platform,
bringing together industry experts from around the emirate into one digital
platform – enabling people to explore and book a service, class or experience.

My role was to create the brand and build its purpose for the industry
and market. Switch means to act differently, to lead a path to live a lifestyle
for the better and take advantage of the experiences Dubai has to offer.

Many partners
(service providers) remain unheard of. With Switch, not only do we make them
available to book on the mobile app - we provide a marketing service, from
video production to social media initiatives.

The journey for SwitchDXB continues to thrive, as the network continues
to grow and the technology continues to mature. &#38;nbsp;Along with this, investment opportunities are already
in motion to launch in Hong Kong and Singapore. Commercial partnerships include
Emaar Hospitality, Emirates Airlines &#38;amp; other major hotel groups.


I currently lead as head of design for Switch DXB, directing content,
messaging, social media, production, leading internal brand workshops and
support in business development.

Established in 2002, Utility Aid supports charities and third sector
organisations with the energy procurement within the United Kingdom.
After many years of growth, there was a lack
of strategic direction on how to lead into the future and influence the dynamic
of the industry.
Having charity at the heart of operations, a
clear purpose was required to resonate with those sectors - Utility Aid became
UA and the brand purpose ‘Do More Good’ was formed.

We defined what energy meant to key stakeholders, it’s not just power

Design developed for online, marketing materials and interior design. It
was clear from the beginning that people formed the brand approach, so creating
an environment to perform was crucial. Spaces were clearly marked with
collaborative areas having soft furnishings for people to come together
naturally. The addition of revitalising plants, stimulating refreshments to
inspire initiative and create a united workforce.
The internal handbook became the go-to guide
for employees, allowing them to engage with the brand at their own level and
encourage their own initiatives, such as spending two days each year with a
charity or organisation of their choice to ‘do more good’.

	The Nicest Job in Britain
	

The Nicest Job in Britain was first developed
alongside the ethical energy consultancy, UA. With a purpose to ‘Do More Good’
- we saw an opportunity to push that message out to the public and create
impact within the not-for-profit industry.

52 WEEKS. 45 CHARITIES. 1 JOB.


The initiative was simple, to find someone with a natural drive to help
others and to put them in an environment to give the best they can offer to hard
working charities across the UK. We launched a nationwide campaign to find UA’s
National Philanthropy Manager, named the Nicest Job in Britain.

That role would see them travel the country for 12 months, visiting a
different charity each week, to help out in whichever way required. The purpose
of the role and campaign was to bring awareness to the many good causes and
people around the country. Supported by UA, Turkish Airlines and Hollywood
Monster &#38;amp; British Gas, this lucrative job offer aimed to excite a well-deserved
winner.

The recruitment campaign was launched using various strategic platforms
to reach to the right people, with applications coming in from as far as
Australia, Cambodia, Columbia and Uganda.


Video content became the core driver for the whole campaign, from job
applications to weekly blogs and updates - all contributing to the digital
communication path for followers to keep track of the ‘nicest jobs’ story.
Candidates were asked to apply online with a
60 second video entry, highlighting why they would be best person for the job.
Applications were made public, allowing candidates to campaign for votes and
build a network amongst like-minded philanthropists. 


A shortlist of 8 entries were invited to interview in front a panel of judges
including representatives of UA &#38;amp; British Gas. In the same evening, the
winner was announced, with Luke Cameron taking the title as UA’s National
Philanthropy manager in 2015.

After just week one, the exposure rocketed and reach became stronger each
week. Luke’s help within charities was not only hands on, but he also helped in
lead in strategic processes within the charities themselves. 
Press engagement reached a national level,
with appearances on primetime TV including BBC Breakfast and Good Morning
Britain in front of millions of morning viewers.

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and
Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, called on all Dubai Government
entities to embrace disruptive innovation as a fundamental mantra of their

In February 2017 we worked with The Executive
Office (TEO) regarding a new government initiative – once briefed, we set up
studio on the 51st floor of Emirates Towers where our role was to bring their
concept of Dubai 10X to life.

The launch of Dubai 10X was to be delivered by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed
bin Rashid himself, at the World Government Summit 2017 in front of a private
audience of the top government ministers.
After developing the identity of Dubai 10X
alongside His Excellency Abdulla Bin Touq and His Excellency Mohammed Al
Gergawi - we developed the story and directed a concept video to be played at
WGS - presented in both English and Arabic.
Following the summit, we also supported the
private briefing at Emirates Towers, delivered by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan
bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

From then on, Dubai 10X has encouraged innovation to take the lead for
government operations, with first ideas already in motion in the Emirate. The
brand itself has enabled ‘stand out’ to audiences and developed into an

Our focus was simple, to lead a company for organic growth with a
lucrative position for future acquisition targets. Working closely with the
leadership team across five countries, we developed a brand strategy and
identity that supported the commercial vision of the group of businesses.

Nexus was formed, portraying a combined ethic
of function, process and environment which ultimately inspired the visual
identity for the brand.

Flying to over 250 destinations, Turkish Airlines is one of the largest
carriers in the world, offering an array of experiences to travellers all
across the globe.
Although global, Turkish Airlines had a focus
to connect with local audiences and to increase social engagement directly with
customers within the UK.

In a bid to push a following, we created and delivered a twitter
treasure hunt - inviting people to follow @UKTurkish to solve clues being
tweeting about Turkish Airlines destinations.
The first letter of each solved destination
can then be taken and rearranged to reveal a secret location in Birmingham, UK.
The first to arrive at the secret location wins a pair of return flight tickets
to any Turkish Airlines destination.

As each week progressed the momentum multiplied, transforming @UKTurkish
into a viral following rather than a place to express negative experiences and
manage service issues (other Turkish Airlines accounts available for these
occasions).
Not only did we gain influx of social
followers, we were able to establish temporary brand ambassadors who would tell
their winning stories and highlight how Turkish Airlines ‘widen their worlds’.

Gaining the support of key influencers was a high priority in order to
excel the campaign and achieve a strong level of engagement. Local media and
publications were used to leverage outreach alongside key brand partnerships
with Aston Villa Football Club, Trinity Mirror and local Business Networks.

	Amadeus Gulf
	

Part of the global Amadeus group, Amadeus Gulf demonstrates innovation
to the travel technology sector within the gulf region, engaging specifically
with corporate customers on the use of their products and services provided by
the company.
Travel is key contributor to the economic
status of the Gulf region, and our role was to show how Amadeus Gulf is forward
thinking in developing the online travel industry of tomorrow.
We created a campaign to bring all existing
corporate customers together (predominately travel agent corporations) for a
chance to discuss how the industry is changing.
Fly By Digital was created, a two day event of
talks and discussions by travel / technology leads within the region, with each
talk giving insight into the future of travel technology, from social influence
engagement to artificial intelligence.

2016 saw our first year of the conference, where we organised the event
at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, compèred by Emirati blogger Khalid Al Ameri.
It was important to keep our campaign theme
clear throughout the two day event, with each talk specifically selected to
bring value to Amadeus’s customers with interactions in and outside of the
auditorium.
